2015 Valentin Vallès Busard Blanc
Valentin Vallès is an organic and biodynamic vigneron who went it alone just two years ago after having worked for Eric Pfifferling at Domaine L’Anglore in Tavel for eight years.
Based in Saint Quentin la Poterie, which is technically in Gard, Valentin’s vineyard is located near a forest where Provence and Languedoc meet. The soils are fertile, well-irrigated and abundant in both clay and limestone. The vineyard’s high altitude lends to ultimately, more acidity and freshness in the wines.
Stylistically all of Valentin’s wines are light, bright-fruited, lower in alcohol and incredibly fresh. Testament to the virtues of no-added-sulphur, all of Valentin’s wines have an energy and a texture about them which makes them incredibly pleasant to drink.
Busard Blanc is a blend of Grenache Gris, Ugni Blanc, Bourboulenc and Roussanne. Expect white stonefruit, lemon-lime citrus and a tight, focused beam of acidity.
