2016 Jauma Why Try So Hard?
By James Erskine and Fiona Wood.
Chenin Blanc and Sémillon from McLaren Vale, South Australia.
Why Try So Hard? is an exclusive cuvée that is made for Wine Diamonds Japan each year. We were lucky enough to swoop a couple of cases for New Zealand, and I'm glad we did, because it is bloody delicious! This time round it's a blend of 90% Chenin Blanc (Carbonic) and 10% Sémillon (Whole bunch) which spends 10 month in barrel before going to bottle. It's bright and juicy, with a tight line of acidity and minerality to keep things going.. pure, concentrated, delicious!
No added sulphites.
NB: All of James' wines, still or sparkling, are bottled under crown seal.
