2016 Sam Millton Petite Amis Pinot Noir

Petite Amis is Sam Millton's 2016 Pinot Noir project.

Made from fruit farmed on the Millton family's Biogro certified Organic and Demeter certified Biodynamic vineyard. It was hand-harvested by Sam and his girlfriend Tegan, kept as whole bunches, fermented and matured in amphora, then corked, labelled and waxed by hand.

Bottled without fining or filtration. No SO2/sulphur dioxide was added.

This wine offers layer upon layer of complexity and speaks of the virtues of organic farming, old-vine tannin structure and sympathetic winemaking.

Upon opening the wine seems firm and restrained - lightly and brightly fruited, nicely spiced, tightly wound acidity and tannin - then over time begins to reveal dense blue-to-blackberry spectrum fruits, soft supple tannins and a lovely, softened acidity that ends up as pure digestibility and utter enjoyment.

More than olfactory stimulus, this wine is a true labour of love and possesses an energy that any drinker will notice. We are delighted to share this with you, just a few dozen was made available for sale.
