Les Paradetes is always Escoda's light red blend that seems best served chilled. This year made from a blend of 40% Garnatxa Negra (Grenache), 30% Carinyena (Carignan) and 30% Sumoll Negre (an indigenous Catalan red variety), the wine is light, juicy, floral and aromatic. Really pure red fruits shine through, this is a very pleasant chilled red with great structure and flavour too. Made with 15 days maceration and 6 months maturation in amphora before being bottled and held for a year before release.

Escoda - Sanahuja wines are from dry-grown, ancient bush vines on limestone soils, in the foothills of the Tossal Gros national park (Conca de Barbera, 1 1/2 hours Southwest of Barcelona, Spain). Joan Ramon Escoda, founder of the famous Bar Brutal in Barcelona, and his wife Mari Carme Sanahuja, make all their wines in tinajas (Spanish clay amphora), which are then fed down into their undergound cellar, all by gravity. Never rushed to bottle and all made without any added sulphites, fining or filtration, these wines are pure, fruitful and energetic, and amazing examples of what natural wine is all about.
